WHAT THE FAN'S THOUGHT- BEHIND THE CAMERA:  CHARLIE'S ANGELS

Dear Jack Condon:

First of all I would like to thank you so so very much for your wonderful Charlie's Angels casebook. What a treat for a die-hard fan like myself. Actually I had to buy another one because the first book was signed by Farrah herself. I saw her on the red carpet when she came for the International Film Festival here in Toronto. And millions of thanks for your participation on the NBC movie that aired last night. I am still breathless as it was so wonderful. You guys managed to tell the story with lots of humor. When I saw the preview online I thought it was Kate Jackson herself speaking. Lauren Tamile deserves an Emmy!!! They performed a miracle. The perfection they had in personifying  Farrah, Kate and Jaclyn was uncanny. And the other actors as well. Specially Ben Browder as Lee Majors. And the one who played Aaron spelling. What a blast! I had a little party here to see the movie and it was great. My friends and I were delighted. I have no idea about TV movies coming out on DVD but it would be great if this one did. With an introduction done by you. But for now I'll have to get by with the one I taped from the TV. Thank you for your dedication with this project. Jack, you're awesome. I'm sure that if you had not participated, it wouldn't have turned out so funky the way it did. You managed to bring a smile on millions of faces. And on a Monday! I took a trip down memory lane.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!  JACK, YOU GROOVE!(OOPS, YOU CAN'T HELP GOING BACK TO THE SEVENTIES YOU KNOW)  OR LET'S BRING IT TO 2004 AND SAY JACK, YOU ROCK, YOU RULE!

Just a little note: Rumor has it that some network is planning to revamp the series to the new century. Maybe they should consult you! I wouldn't mind seeing Tricia, Christina and Lauren doing it all again. And maybe you could play Bosley!

Lots of love

Isabelle from Toronto Canada

Hey Jack:

Carlos here.  Yeap, the guy in Miami who got the lucky Charlie's Angels Casebook autographed by you.

Man, you are my hero!  Just watched again the movie I taped last night and let me tell you that you guys did some awesome job.

Read you were involved in casting the girls and helping them with voice and gestures.   Target: Angels; Bullseye! You nailed Farrah, Kate and Jackie all right.

The movie is top comedy and drama entertainment, a great back to the seventies document, and it wonderfully portrays the human side of each angel and the execs of course.  I am sure you will get great reviews and ratings.

You just keep making your dreams come true.  What a role model!  You have accomplished everything you want, and believe me being at a Charlie's Angels shoot after 28 years was a tough one.

With sincere admiration,

Carlos Aguilar

Jack,

Sincerely loved the movie.  When it comes to anything making commentary on the Angels I am a very tough critic due to all the blasphemy that they've received, but your film was so authentic and fun, I can't imagine anyone not enjoying it.  The actresses were superb.  Each one's portrayal of their character was incredible.  I never thought I'd ever say someone could fill Jaclyn's, Kate's, and Farrah's shoes, but they did so magnificently.  Thank you for getting in on the act and seeing that this movie was done properly.   I wouldn't have changed a thing about it.  It was absolutely wonderful! -

Henry

Hey Jack,

I just saw  "The Movie" and I had to write immediately to say congratulations ! I thought the ladies nailed the parts spot on and I actually believed that I was watching

Aaron Spelling. But the real kicker was watching the opening credits and seeing based on The Charlie's Angels Casebook by JACK CONDON and David Hofstede ! You should be proud , but now I guess that I shall have to make an appointment just to email you. But all kidding aside, I was delighted for you. So enjoy your success and write me and tell me all the news.

P.S. Now when I buy the book I shall have to send it to California to get it autographed !

Jack,

I saw your Charlie's Angels movie tonight, and I have to say the casting was absolutely perfect!  The actresses who played Farrah, and especially Jaclyn, really looked like them.  But it wasn't just their appearance, their mannerisms were flawless - particularly the actress who played Kate Jackson.

I, too, was a big Charlie's Angels fan and really enjoyed your show.  Here's a picture of my Farrah wall back from 1977.  Thanks again!

Jack,

I just watched your movie and I loved it!  It was very good.  Too bad there wasn't enough time to take it through all of the angels.  All the "Angels" were top notch. You should be so pleased with them!

Jack,

Enjoyed the movie!  I saw your name twice- that was the best part. I was AMAZED at the woman who played Kate- she got the voice EXACTLY right! Even one of my co workers made that comment this morning.

I think it was right not to end the movie with that Jay scene. The movie would have been too much about him. I did love that they mentioned Scarecrow, though (even though it was kind of derogatory that Kate was back on TV.)

Hope you enjoyed watching your work on TV and I hope the ratings were great!

Congrats!

Jack:  I actually loved the movie!  It was great.  You were soooooooo right.  The girls who did Kate and Jaclyn got their voice down PERFECT.  It was amazing.  I loved watching it.  It was fun.  I would love to get the poster of the girl who did the famous swimsuit poster.  She looked great.  I know you had a great time with them.  I wish I could get a copy of that movie on DVD.

Talk with you soon!

Fritz

I thought it was even better than expected.  The voices and mannerisms were uncanny at times--especially coming from actresses so young and virtually unknown.  You really did a terrific job of selecting and coaching them.  Maybe this will be the beginning of stardom for them, too.

The only one that disappointed me was the choice for Cheryl.  She wasn't nearly as pretty or perky, but at least it was just a minor role  Are they planning to do a sequel featuring the other angels, or is that anticlimactic?

Sallie

Hey Jack-

Let me get to the movie! It was a hoot!!! Congrats!!! It looks like it was so much of work??? I commend you. All 3 girls were very good....especially Kate (Stamile). I guess you've probably heard or read by now that she has Jackson's voice and inflections down cold!! She made me howl every time she came on screen. The other 2 were also great. You could tell that they all worked very hard. The clothes, the sets, the other actors were very put-together. I'm sure that there was a lot of stuff that never made it in the final cut. I wish there were more scenes of all three together and having fun, to show everyone how well they all got along. By the way, was Tricia wearing a hair-piece or extensions?

How was it working in Canada? Hey......Tricia is a fellow Canuck!! I also recognize someone who played small part of a reporter who went school here in Toronto.

Congrats again-

Dennis

Hi Jack,

Well, how are you doing, now that the movie is done and has actually aired? Calmer? The pictures on your web site were really nice. I really enjoyed it. It seemed to follow what I have read and heard and I learned some new things. It was interesting to see what the actresses' personalities were really like, especially Kate Jackson. I always wondered about her. She definitely was a leader and had her own ideas. She

seemed very experienced like with "The Rookies". Jaclyn really was a very good girl. I liked the scene when Jaclyn and Farrah could barely wake up at 4 am and Kate was already up doing sit-ups. They had their voices and mannerisms down well. It was amazing how much trouble the producers had getting the pilot and the show on the air. It was so popular. I would be interested in a movie about Cheryl Ladd's first year. I don't think they were quite so welcoming to her. That never made sense to me. I think Farrah probably enjoyed all the money and attention she was getting maybe more than what was implied. The music and the fashion were really cool too. It really took you back in time. The Spelling, Goldberg, and Silverman characters were funny. Seemed pretty realistic. You seemed very pleased with the project on your web site.

Cheers!

Jennifer

Hi Jack!

Wow!  You must really be flying high right now!  Congratulations on your movie!  I have to say it went beyond my expectations.  The casting of the girls was excellent.  They not only looked like the original Angels but they sounded like them as well!  Good job with that.

I also thought the editing was great.  It really set a good pace and the whole tone of the film matched up very well with the "Charlie's Angels" atmosphere at the time ... at least the way I remember it.  And the costumes!  Boy, I'd forgotten how weird everybody looked back then!  Those leisure suits!  LOL

Anyway, WELL DONE.  You should be very proud.  So what are you going to do for an encore?

Kathy

Jack,

Just wanted to tell you that the casting for the recent "Angels" TV movie was amazing. Especially the actress playing Kate - she really nailed it. Congratulations. (By the way, I'm the guy that you bought the Jaclyn Smith Martini & Rossi stand-up from!)

Regards,

Larry
